Band Booster Club meetings on the 2nd Monday night of the month in
the band room!

Band Camp Week 2


·       
Camp
starts at 8:00 sharp! 
 Arrive early to be on
time!  Pick-up time is 6:00pm.


·       
Butter
braids fundraiser orders and money DUE on Thursday, August 3.


·       
IMPORTANT!  PICK UP PROCEDURES: 


o   For the safety of our students, please do not pull up in
front of the band room at the curb to pick up your student!
 Please find a parking spot in the lot. 


This will be the same procedure for pickup after football games.


o   Students are crossing the road in that area and the pit cart
needs to use the ramp to get the equipment back into the band room after games
and rehearsals. 


o  
Parents are not allowed in
the band room while the director is dismissing the students.


·       
Friday August 4


o  
Parent meeting at 4:30 in
the band room -Mr. Smith will be talking about marching band and answering
questions. Find out how to make your child’s band experience awesome! 


o  
Come
meet the Booster Club leaders, ask questions, get marching band information,
purchase band spirit items, pay band fees, get on volunteer lists, sign up for
volunteer opportunities at games and competitions!  


o  
Full
Day of camp and Exhibition
at 5:00 for parents


 


Band
Packets are OVER Due
!


·       
If we have not
received a Medical Form (blue) or a completed band packet, your student will
not be able to participate in band activities until it is received.  


·       
Please
return your filled-out band packets!  
Parents need to keep the information pages!  The blue Medical Form needs to be filled out
front and BACK and signed by a parent.


·       
Be
sure to keep the information pages for parents.


·       
There
is a full packet under the forms section on our website (pull down 2017-2018
forms) or your student can pick one up from Mr. Smith.


·       
If
your student turned in an incomplete packet it will be coming home with a paper
telling what needs to be completed. 
Please return these asap. 


 


Butter
Braid Fundraiser! -
The order
forms and information were passed out last week to all students.  Each student is asked to sell 10
butter-braids.
  They are delicious
and can be used for breakfast or dessert! 
They come frozen and keep in the freezer for months.  We receive $6 for each one sold.  Please return all orders and money by August 3.  Delivery of the braids is August 22.


Upcoming Band Events:


·       
The marching band will be playing at the One Berkeley
Festival on Saturday, August 12


·       
Call time is 8:00 at
Stratford and dress is the summer uniform -khaki shorts, red shirt (any red
shirt or old show shirt is fine) tucked in, white socks and white sneakers and
belt.


·       
The students will be
riding buses to the Moncks Corner Reginal Recreation Complex


·       
Stratford band
performs from 10:00 to 10:23


·       
We’d love to see
lots of parents in attendance to cheer on our kids in their first event!


·       
First game of the
year is against Berkeley at Stratford on Friday Aug. 25 at 7:30!


 


 Booster Club Information


·       
All band parents
are members of the Band Booster Club, you do not need to join!


·       First Booster Club meeting
is Monday, August 28th at 6:30
 in the band room. 


·       
 Booster Board and Leaders meeting is at 5:30. 


·       
Come see what
marching band is all about! 


·       
Door prizes and band spirit
wear and items for sale!  Koozies, seat
cushions, cups, shirts, string bags, car flags


·       
There are many
opportunities for you to volunteer and earn money toward your child’s band
fees.  Come find out how to get
involved!  


·       
All
Parents who wish to volunteer with the band (concessions, chaperoning, props,
dad crew, fundraisers etc.)  must go
online and fill out a volunteer registration f
orm on the
Berkeley County Schools website.  Go to
www.bcsdvolunteers.comand fill out the form and submit.   Please
send you acceptance email to the stratfordbandssc@gmail.com


·       If you plan to chaperone games or
competitions or work in concessions, you will need your photo taken at the
meeting
so a volunteer badge can be made for
you.


·

included your email address.
 
Web blasts will be sent out all during marching season with information
for the upcoming week and events.


·       
Please
check the Stratford bands website for the updated fall calendar
which
includes games and competitions and rehearsal dates and times. 


·       
Competitions are mandatory for the
students in marching band. 


·       
Please contact Mr. Smith if you have a
question or your student will miss any rehearsals or competitions.  There is an Absentee form that needs to be
filled out (in the band room and on the website) for any absences. 


·       
Please
remember the rehearsals on Tuesday August 8 and Thursday August 10 from
4:30-7:00.  This is before school resumes


Band Fees


·       
The Band fee for the 2017-2018 school year
is $350.00.  Guard and percussion
students have an additional $30.00 fee for the equipment/gear usage and
specialized instructors.  The payment
schedule is:


          1st Payment – Deposit of
$75.00 due no later than July 1st


          2nd Payment - $70.00 due
August 1st


          3rd Payment - $70.00 due
September 1st


          4th Payment - $70.00 due
October 1st


          5th Payment - $65.00 due
November 1st


 


·       
Payments
can be mailed to
Stratford Bands, PO Box 1665, Goose Creek, SC 29445 or
put in the money box in the band room. Please put your payment in an envelope with your child’s name and what
the payment is for!
Envelopes are on the side of the money box.
