|CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS OF THE|
STRATFORD HIGH SCHOOL BAND BOOSTER CLUB, INC.
GOOSE CREEK, SOUTH CAROLINA
SECTION I: This Organization shall be called the Stratford High School Band Boosters Club, Inc. (hereafter referred to as “Club”).
SECTION I: The objectives of the Club shall be:
1.To stimulate and sustain interest among the band boosters and the students of Stratford High School in band activities at Stratford High School by cooperating with school authorities and the Stratford Band Director.
2.To raise and distribute monies, as required for the activities of the band, not funded by the Berkeley County School District. All fund raisers to be originated at the recommendation of the Ways And Means Committee and the Executive Board, and to be voted on by the general membership.
SECTION I: The officers of this club shall be a President, Vice- President, President-elect, Secretary and Treasurer. The office of the President-elect may be left unfilled, if the standing President is voted to serve consecutive terms. The officers will normally be referred to as the Executive Board. Nominations will be submitted at the expiration of the President's term and the elections will be held at the May meeting. All elected officials must be members of the Stratford High School Band Booster Club, Inc., and must be parents/guardians of a member of the band.
1SECTION II: President:
The President shall be the chief official of the Club, and shall perform such duties as normally belong to this office. He/She will have power, on extra-ordinary occasions, to call special meetings of the membership, upon giving due notice (at least 48 hours) to the membership, and stating in this notice the purpose of the special meeting. He/She will appoint all committee chairmen as needed and will be an ex-officio member of all committees. He/She will require written reports of the Secretary, Treasurer, and/or Chairmen of Committees. The President will fill the office of Vice-President after serving as President. The President may serve consecutive terms if voted on by the general membership.
SECTION IIA: President-elect:
The President-elect shall be a freshmen sophomore or junior parent in training for the job of president for the following year. This office will be filled by election each Fall at the October Club meeting. He/She shall be charged with developing membership strength of the organization. If the standing President is nominated and voted to serve a consecutive term, then the office of President-elect will be left vacant and the standing President will perform the functions of President-elect.
SECTION III: Vice-President:
The Vice-President shall perform all duties of President in his/her absence. He/She shall be charged with developing membership strength of the organization. If the outdoing President is a senior parent or is elected to a consecutive term as president, nominations will be held for the office of Vice-president. The election will be held in May with all other positions to be filled.
SECTION IV: Secretary:
The Secretary shall have the following duties: He/She shall keep full and accurate records of minutes of all meetings of the Club, and of all matters of which a written record shall have been ordered by the President. He/She shall carry on all correspondence of the Club. He/She shall keep a complete and accurate roll of the members, officers, and committees of the Club.
SECTION V: Treasurer:
The Treasurer shall keep an accurate account of all monies on hand or under his/her control, and render a report at each meeting, or as required by the president as to the financial standing of the Club. The treasury records will be audited by a special committee, appointed by the president, during the month of May.
SECTION I: All parents of the members of the Stratford High School Band and all other persons who express an interest in the promotion of this band and comply with the provisions of the constitution and by-laws shall be eligible for membership in the Stratford High School Band Booster Club, Inc.
SECTION II: Each Member in good standing shall have the right of a vote upon all issues which shall come before the organization for decision and no member shall be permitted to cast the vote of another member. "Member in good standing" is defined as one whose current dues are paid and who has attended at least one- third (1/3) of the regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
SECTION III: Membership fee is $15.00 per family, per year. Membership fees shall be due and payable by the regular booster club meeting in September. New members may join at any time, however dues are not prorated.
SECTION IV: As a non-profit organization sponsors of the Stratford Band Booster Club, Inc. may donate at the following levels:
Stratford Band Contributor: $25.00
Stratford Band Support: $50.00
Stratford Band Patron: $100.00
Stratford Band Enthusiast: $200.00
Stratford Band Champion: $500.00
Stratford Band Benefactor: $1,000.00
Sponsors will receive a receipt for their contribution to the Club.
SECTION I: All Committees should be appointed by the Executive Board. Committee Chairmen will be appointed by the President, and must be approved by the Executive Board.
SECTION I: The Club should hold regular meetings the second Monday of each month during the school year, or as called by the Executive Board. The Executive Board should meet one week prior to the regular meeting to set the agenda for the upcoming meeting. All Executive Board meetings are open to the general 1membership, but the general members shall not have voting privileges at such meetings.
SECTION II: Order of Business
1.Call to order by the president
2.Reading of minutes of regular monthly meeting, highlights of minutes from board meeting, committee reports, correspondence, etc.
HOW TO AMEND
SECTION I: This Constitution and By-Laws may be amended at any regular meeting of the Stratford Band Booster by approval of 51% of the membership in attendance provided that the specific amendments meet the following requirements:
They have been introduced at a prior meeting.
They are included in the minutes for the prior meeting; and
They are listed on the agenda for the current meeting.
SECTION I: All checks issued by the Club will have two signatures. Authorized signers will be the Treasurer, President, and a third person appointed by the President and approved by the Executive Board.

SECTION II: The President shall appoint a special committee to audit the accounts of the Club during May of each year. A written report of their findings will be submitted to the President. The President will also appoint another special committee to inventory all saleable items to include concession stand inventories during May of each year. A written report of the inventory will be submitted to the President.
SECTION III: The President will appoint a committee to inventory and inspect for proper operation of all Club assets twice a year. A written report will be submitted to the President.
